Mt.Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain with an elevation 8188m (26864m) above the sea level. The name Cho Oyu is comes from Tibetan kanguage which means “Turquoise Goddess”. It is 20 km west of Mt.Everst as a major peak of the Khumbu sub-section of the Mahalangur Himalaya. It is said that, climbing Cho Oyu is one of the easiest mountain peak above 8000 meters. Mt.Cho Oyu was first climbed in Oct 19, 1954 by Austrian and Nepalese Expedition Team.
